#notinKansasanymore

I have arrived in what I have heard been called so far “the old continent” and let me say it is B-E-A-U-TIFUL! Currently I am sitting in Brussels, Belgium awaiting my final plane to take me to my final destination, Toulouse. It has been quite the journey so far and I just wanted to share a few things special moments thus far.
Right now as I am talking to you I am helping a man from India learn how to use the charging station machine that they use in this airport. It is a modified bicycle so that way when you pedal it charges the device that you have plugged in. A pretty neat idea if you ask me and it is a good way for me to stay warm since for some reason I chose not bring a jacket and am freezing in this terminal!
My powercat on laptop cover has already been recognized once in my use in the international aiport! Truly Wildcats are all over!
I also have been doing some listening to the music around me while in the airport and have heard quite the mixture. Not only were some in French but also heard some of the tunes that I was used to. Here are a few

I am super excited to finish up the last leg of my journey and arrive with the rest of our group. There are supposed to be 58 of us from land grant universities all throughout the U.S. and a few from other international universities, Hong Kong and Lebanon. There are 4 of us Wildcats and the only one I know is Jorge Torrebiarte through a mutual friend of ours who is also studying abroad this summer in Germany, James Krotz. Anyways, I still am waiting to finish the last leg of my journey and cannot wait to start showing you all pictures of my summer.

This next set of quotes was inspired by my film watching on the plane into Brussels since I got to see the movie, Oz: The Great and Powerful.

“That proves you are unusual, and I am convinced that the only people worthy of consideration in this world are the unusual ones. For the common folks are like the leaves of a tree, and live and die unnoticed.”- Scarecrow

“As a matter of fact, we are none of us above criticism; so let us bear with each other's faults.”- L. Frank Baum, The Marvelous Land of Oz

“Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.”- Dorothy
